Hello everyone! Turkish Peas Recipe is one of those easy, delicious and healthy Turkish food recipe

It is so easy to cook. You only need couple ingredients. Frozen sweet peas, potato, carrot and onion. Only these ingredients and you can have this very tasty meal quickly.

I love to serve this Turkish Peas Recipe with Turkish Rice. And if I have enough ingredients for it I love to eat with Turkish Salad too. But overall, this by itself is a whole meal. Plus, it is a good option as a vegetarian meal too. 

If you have been following me probably know that there is many these types of Turkish foods that I have been sharing with you guys. These are the ones mostly cooked in a daily Turkish family home because they are so easy. All are including vegetables and that is the best part I think.

Turkish Peas Recipe

Turkish Peas Recipe is another easy, delicious and healthy Turkish food recipe. Plus, it is a perfect vegetarian recipe too!

Ingredients
  

  • 12 oz frozen sweet peas
  • 1 potato
  • 1 carrot
  • 1/2 onion
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • water till it get to same line with peas not over them
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper you can skip this step if you do not like spicy

Instructions
 

  • Cut potato, carrot and onion into dice shape.
  • Take olive oil into medium size pan and heat it.
  • Add onion cook couple minutes.
  • Add potato and carrot cook little bit all together.
  • Add tomato paste and give 2-3 more minutes to cook with tomato paste.
  • Lastly add peas and give it a good mix.
  • Boil some water on the side at this time. Add water into pan. It is not going to go over veggies but be in the same line with veggies.
  • Add spices too, stir again.
  • Once it star boiling lower heat and cover. Cook till veggies are cooked. For mine it took 40 minutes. Time might change because of sizes of the veggies. Check them after 30 minutes. Make sure potato cooked all the way because it is the hardest one to cook. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Use boil water.
  • Make sure to put same amount of water. If you end up pouring a lot taste will change.
  • Use frozen peas. You can use can peas if that is only one you have but add that after you cook veggies and cook with them around 5 10 minutes like that.
