Turkish Eggplant With Ground Beef

Hello everyone, we are cooking another delicious Turkish Food which is ` Turkish Style Eggplant With Ground Beef `.

Do you like eggplant? I know many people does not but this recipe is going to make you love it from now on!! It is simple but yummy.

Normally, there is another Turkish recipe which is making with eggplant that I love so much but here in Fl i could not find the right eggplant size for that. It needs to be slim long ones but here I can only find those huge sizes. If you didnt know yes there are couple different eggplants in this world and all of them are good for different dishes. You can use different ones for same food but taste will change.

So, thats how I decided to make this other favorite eggplant Turkish food. If you have the same type of eggplant that I have, you might want to take of little bit from seed part. They have lots of seed in it and those parts of eggplants are mostly taste little bit more bitter then normal. That is why if you take it out that will make your dish more delicious.

Also, as you can see from picture I served this with some Turkish Rice and/or we mostly serve with Turkish Salad too. Thats how we eat this dish in Turkey. If you want to check Turkish Rice recipe click on it to go to recipe.

Enjoy!

How To Make Turkish Style Eggplant With Ground Beef:

  • First start with making your ground beef mixture. Put olive oil into pan and heat it.
  • Add ground beef and cooked till it get brown. Smash at the same time with back of your spoon so it will split into small pieces.
  • Cut your onion and garlic into small pieces and add into pan. Cook till onions get soft.
  • Add tomato paste cook with it another 2 minutes.
  • Cut your tomato into small pieces like onions and after 2 minutes add that into pan too with spices and lower heat let it simmer for couple minutes till tomato get soft and let its juice out. *Try to choose juicy tomato.
  • Now it is time for eggplant. Cut your eggplant into dice sizes. *If you have those big eggplants like mine take out little bit from seed part because they will make taste little bitter.
  • At the same time heat your vegetable oil into another deep pan. *Use deep pan because we are going to fry them.
  • When oil is hot enough add eggplants and fry all of it. *Put them into plate with paper towel becaue eggplants will absorb oil too muh so before we mix with ground beef it is better to reduce fat from eggplant. Thats what paper towel is going to help with.
  • When eggplants are ready mix with ground beef mixture. *I love to serve this food with some Turkish Rice. You can check my recipe to cook delicous Turkish Rice and have a good Turkish home made meal.
