I personally do not like to eat brown rice by itself because of the taste. They do not have enough flavor for me to enjoy just by themselves so I needed to come up with an idea to make them more delicious for me to be able eat both healthy and at the same time enjoy my food. You can understand from my other healthy rice recipe which is Brown Rice Salad also was healthy and delicious, if you havent see that one you should definetly check!

This recipe end up really delicious so I had to share with you to give you a quick healthy food idea! It is so simple with just couple of ingredients carrot, lentil, onion and garlic. That is all actullay! But all those together make this rice way more healthier and tasty.

We ate with some Turkey (It is time for us to start eating little more healthy after all the bad food we ate at weekend), you can eat with any type of meat like chicken or steak. Even buy themselves if you do not prefer to eat meat, make some salad or soup to go with it. Your dinner will be ready in no time. And I love to say over and over again, HEALTHY and DELICIOUS!! I love both together, who does not right?

Brown rice is healthy but to be honest taste is not the best. This recipe is perfect if you are agree with me! Just little touch with carrot and lentil it is turning into delicious rice and also making it more healthy!

Ingredients
  

  • 1/3 cup lentil
  • 1/2 cup brown rice
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 onion
  • 3 clove garlic
  • 1/2 - 1 tbsp olive oil if you use 1/2 make sure your heat between low and medium to prevent food from burning or sticking to pan
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper

Instructions
 

  • First start cooking brown rice and lentils.
  • Peel and cut carrot into small pieces. Also, cut onion same size with carrot and lastly cut garlic into small pieces too.
  • Heat olive oil and add carrot. Sautee for 2 minutes and add onion cooked till they get soft.
  • Lastly add garlic. Cook together another 2 minutes.
  • Add lentil and brown rice with salt and pepper to taste. Stir them. Enjoy!
